ripley's pet turtle and pigs for grabs
one thing that struck me on my holiday in taipei was that the taiwanese really love their pets. they take them everywhere, and these pets, usually dogs, are always immaculately groomed. sometimes they wear cute lil doggie clothes like the incredibles or bumble bees or even an xmas tree. they look and smell so good that i feel scruffy standing next to them.
even the pet animals for sale in the night markets were spotlessly clean. and would you believe it, there was NO stink. a whole freaking night market selling all sorts of domestic animals and there is no smell at all.
mind you, they even sold piglets.
just too cute right? was tempted for a moment to smuggle it back home but then i thought of how huge this lil piglet could potentially grow into and came to my senses. the house aint big enough for two greedy sows. besides, it'll just be too tragic (not to mention cruel) if we eat pork in the house...
and while we're on the subject of pigs and pork, i thought this was really funny.
and finally, this is for the apathetic old fart in you.
ever seen a long-necked turtle?
how about an aerial view.
freaky, isn't it?
i wonder why they need long necks for. they're no longer satisfied with the pond scum and are stretching out for the leaves instead?
