what turns me on is so surreal

of all the things I could be and should be doing now, the one thing I choose to do is by no means a priority. But then sometimes I suspect my priorities are abit screwed anyway, so what the hell.

I should get started on my slides for Friday's presentation since I will not be in on Thursday and might not even have my laptop with me. I could be sleeping. 3hours per day for the past 3 days means im barely surviving.

A thought. '3hours per day for the past 3 days' sounds bad. But '9 hours in 72 hours' sounds badder. What about '9 hours for the past 3 days'? some people get 9 hours in just one day. I think im beyond tired such that im actually quite awake. Seriously I think ill get by without sleep even for the next 24 hours. It's not that hard. You just gotta learn the art of auto-piloting throughout the main bulk of the day and turn on the engines only when the occasion calls for it. For example, for life's all-important questions like "What should I have for lunch today?", and "I wonder if those shoes will match my clothes/bag/belt/accessories/skin colour/mood/etc etc etc".

This is going to make me sound like a bimbo, or more likely, this is going to reveal my true bimbo colours, but I've abandoned all work and sacrificed sleep just so I can indulge in a completely frivolous activity:

Buffing my nails.

I stand completely undeterred and ready to defend my time-waster of choice.

I cant stand dull, grooved, unbuffed nails on myself the same way some people wont come into contact with civilisation wearing specs, or the way some, ah, most, guys wont leave the house without gelling their hair. I just feel ugly. shiny, naked nails make me a happy girl. so sue me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I really oughta get back to my nails. All this tip-tapping on the keyboard is highly damaging for my precious keratins.

it's all good

it's been a whirlwind of a last couple of weeks. i feel like i should sit down and take a breath. certain sparkling moments stood out, but mostly it's a warm fuzz. a buzzy blur. stressed periods, hearty laughs, shouting matches, engaging conversations, ludicrous moments, incomparable sweetness, sticky situations, uncontrollable binging, frustrated tears. it's not all been smooth-sailing, but that's precisely the point. living a fulfilling buzzy life, for me at least, is not about having only happy times. it's all the little good and bad bits that come together and constitute this wonderful mosaic that i can look back on and contend that it was indeed well-lived. and so far, it's all good.

today is your day, hope it was all good. hope it was better than good.

love me, feed me.

i know im beyond hope. i chose a cheese hotdog bun over my sis.

the story itself is too embarrassing to go into, pls dont ask me *paperbag over my head*

i love my sis dearly, but there's something you should know too... the hotdog bun was like 'heaven people food' as i would normally say. it's food fit for the gods. it was soooooo delicious... i can eat it for every meal for the rest of my life.

(i didnt sell my sis for the hotdog bun in case you were wondering. ack.)

thank you so much for introducing me to it!!! i bet you didnt think that you were cultivating an addiction in me yea... yup, i hold you wholly accountable for all my subsequent cheese hotdog cravings (that will be every morning, noon and night).

btw, i decided on something very important earlier this evening.

i planned my epitaph.

"herein lies Winnie.
she loved her food well."

me : HUH? im not!
X : but i just read your latest blog entry... "what's so bad about being neo. at least he's the one" and "but i love you still". see i make a good detective rite?
me : erm actually tht was a sad post.
X : why ah, cos karen went to nz?
me : HUH? no!
X : ohh i know, you found a religion?
me : HUH!!!
X : shit no wonder i dropped literature class.

Y : so who's this "amazingly intoxicating" character anyway? how come i dont know?
me : it's a sad post!
Y : the first part yea, but after the digression seems rather joyous to me
me : *explain what i really mean in the last paragraph*
Y : ... amazingly intoxicating... but the normal person doesnt take it literally!
me : that's the beauty of my blog. you dont know when to take what how.

what's so bad about being neo. at least he's the one.

im delirious.
deliriously happy and deliriously exhausted and deliriously dizzy.
the past weeks have been a blur of activities, work and other commitments. i still have 3 reports, 4 presentations, 1 webpage design and 1 test to go. oh yeah, then it's exams.
HAH. aint life grand?

havent been blogging cos ive been feeling clogged up again lately. have no idea why im feeling this way, but it's definitely not a good sign seeing how i have all these 20page reports due soon which ive obviously not started and have no motivation to anyway. have thoughts running through my head which i cant put into words and a heart that is immensely confused. cant believe it when i find myself dishing out advice when i cant even sort out my own head and heart. the heart cannot be trusted. because the heart wants what the heart wants. and the heart cannot always have what it wants. like that all expenses paid trip around the world.

digression.
i thought this was reeaaaallly cute!

you are my best friend tonight.
you, who are amazingly intoxicating. you're the reason why im breaking my dunno-how-long blogging hiatus by spouting rubbish. you make me look charming. not. but i love you still. and the way you're able to make the room spin and the lights look pretty. and take away everything im not supposed to feel. you make me feel comfortably numb.

and what's wrong with being numb if it means you're comfortable.
and delirious.

fly on the wall #1

if you had to choose, which of your 5 senses would you forego?

"smell... still can lead a normal life without it"

"smell... it'll just be like a perpetual cold... at least still can function like a normal human being"

"smell... it's the least damaging"

"sight... i can do with someone leading and feeding me! i like to close my eyes anyway.. haha.. im always knocking over things when i have my sight anyway so it's pretty redundant"

"smell... no more bad breath!"

depreciation

win: lookit me eyebags!!
guy: well, you're still ok. some girls in school have already started depreciating.
win: WHAT?!
guy: yknow... they look good in Year 1, then they start wearing t-shirt and shorts in Year 2, then in Year 3 they look like aunties and dont even bother to comb their hair.

____________

gee, i didnt know the guys in sch evaluate us girls in such mathematical (econs?) terms. i feel like fish being inspected for freshness.

am i still fresh then?! ack.. boggles the mind indeed.

speaking of depreciation, women make much better financial purchases than men do, contrary to popular belief.

men buy, let's see... hmm.. IT gadgets. now we all know these toys are only about as 'fresh' as the monthly men's magazine eh. when newer snazzier versions come out in a few months time you cant even re-sell them at sim lim for half the retail price you bought it for. men also buy cars. now seriously cars starts depreciating the very second you get hold of the keys..

women! now see, we buy diamonds. ever heard of the song 'diamonds are forever'? value doesnt drop, baby, they are investments for life! ;)
