it's all so fuzzy

how do you know when it's time to break up?

when love fades? perhaps when the buzz is no longer there? but when exactly is that?

when love changes? maybe one party is no longer as committed to making it work? but where do you draw the line?

when love is subjected to long distances and time differences? can love survive?

when it's a combination of love fading, changing and strained due to the physical distance, does it automatically mean throwing in the towel?

it's easy to point out the cracks, but are you willing to change yourself and put in the effort to make it better?

how do you know if it's you who ought to change, and not the other party?

how much effort is sufficient, and when does it go overboard and is simply a waste of your time?

how do you assess how much the other party is putting in?

how do you do the actual breaking up? how do you let go of the person you've invested so much of your love, time, effort and tears into?

and when you do break up, how do you let go?

does time heal all wounds? and what does that mean anyway?

does time make you wiser, and better equipped to deal with the pain? or does it simply fade it out and you mistake numbness for 'having moved on'?

how do you know when you have moved on?

when you stop thinking of the person?
when you get into another relationship?
when you think about the other party and no longer feel pain?

_______________________

how tragic is it when it ends before it can begin.

when the initial spark and blossoming friendship is suddenly and unceremoniously stoppered.

when do you persist and when do you back off?

and is it easier to let go?
