freshies and fishies

today cherm, karen and i crashed the first day of the NUS union camp. we wanted to pretend tht we were freshies and concocted lies abt how we are enrolling into the law faculty. the ACJC guys from our batch who were real freshies had to be silenced (though quite unsuccessfully if i might say so). in the end i think most of the camp leaders found out and i dont think they were too happy tht we were not participating as actively as they would have liked. cos we kept giving the real freshies chance to play. after all, they paid for the camp and we didnt. the solitary free lunch we had today already made us feel so paiseh.. but like wht karen said, there is no such thing as a free lunch.. we 'paid' for it by running ard the freaking huge campus in the drizzle amidst the construction works with the rest of the group during 'cluedo'. and we did their cheers and stuff also. the freshies were totally dead man.. by late afternoon we were all so sian tht we decided not to even stay for the closing scene in 'cluedo'. and due to unforseen circumstances, we didnt sleep over in cherm's hall like we planned to. i lugged my huge bag all the way to NUS and all the way home again in the same day. oh but we had milo elephant at fong seng!
and on my way home, i took this bus route tht ive not taken for perhaps a year plus, and realised tht the shop behind the bustop i alight at to change buses is different! okay i know this is like completely trivial rite? but no! cos the shop tht used to be there was this fascinating antique clock shop. they had clocks hung on every spare space on their walls and grandfather clocks crammed into every corner and which chimed every hour. i used to gaze into tht old decrepit shop and the sea of brown clocks while waiting for my bus.
and today, tht sea of brown turned into a sea of blue. the walls were painted a bright aquatic blue and abt 20 fishtanks adorned both walls. the most interested thing abt the shop was the TYPE of fishies they were selling. the one tht caught my eye first was this multicoloured fishie. it's more like technicoloured actually. there was this metallic sheen on its coloured scales even! the shopowner said it's like a parrot. then this other fishie caught my eye. it had 2 miniscule shrek-like ears! yknow the trumpet-like things protruding out of the top of its head?? and it had a long flat face and super-puffy lips. it was horrendous! it looked like a cow!! imagine a cow face on a lil yellow fishie!! i saw a couple more weird fishies but i cant rem them now cos my mind is preoccupied with images of the parrotfishie and the fugly cowfishie. i tell you, all these weird creatures were in the ONE fishtank i looked at.. i wonder wht other specimens are in the manymore fishtanks inside the shop.. this shop is MORE fascinating than the previous one any day..
maybe im suaku lah, ive never seen fishies like tht! the store uncle had to tell me tht my bus was here cos i was busy peering into the fishtank hoping for another glimpse of the parrot fish.

alrights tht's all for now.. im so so tired, i think i will sleep now. more updates soon.
